Six counties are represented on our hurling team of the week ...

1. Darren Gleeson (Tipperary)

The Premier netminder pulled off a smart reflex save late on in Semple Stadium to deny Galway's Joseph Cooney.

2. Richie McCarthy (Limerick)

McCarthy and Limerick withstood a spirited performance from Antrim before producing a strong finish in Ballycastle.

3. Christopher Joyce (Cork)

The Rebel defender kept Shane O'Donnell on a tight leash throughout the 70 minutes at Pairc Ui Rinn on Saturday evening.

4. Conor O'Brien (Tipperary)

Fully justified Eamon O'Shea's decision to include him at left corner-back with a polished performance against the Tribesmen.

5. Austin Gleeson (Waterford)

The Mount Sion youngster dealt comfortably with what Laois had to throw at him as Derek McGrath's charges secured their first win in Division 1B.

6. Padraic Maher (Tipperary)

Galway began to get a grip on proceedings around the middle third of the field during the second-half in Thurles but Maher stood firm in the heart of the home side's defence.

7. Peter Kelly (Dublin)

Ger Cunningham has rejigged the Dublin starting 15 and former All-Star full-back Kelly is enjoying a new lease of life in the half-back line.

8. David Redmond (Wexford)

The Model midfielder got through an enormous amount of work around the middle third of the field against Offaly and also roamed forward to raise four white flags.

9. Aidan Walsh (Cork)

After the disappointment of their opening round display against Kilkenny, Cork and Walsh bounced back with an impressive showing against Clare.

10. Danny Sutcliffe (Dublin)

The wing-forward's late sending-off for a second yellow card offence failed to take the gloss of a fine individual display in which he shot four points.

11. Pauric Mahony (Waterford)

After O'Mahony had helped himself to 1-14 (nine frees) against Laois, it was no surprise to hear manager Derek McGrath sing the Ballygunner man's praises.

12. Cian Lynch (Limerick)

The youngster's appetite for work was a vital ingredient in Limerick's winning formula up in Antrim and he also chipped in with three points.

13. David Treacy (Dublin)

The Cuala clubman enjoyed an afternoon to remember in Nowlan Park when accumulating 11 points (including four frees and three 65s) against the All-Ireland champions.

14. Alan Cadogan (Cork)

Cadogan finished with just a solitary point to his name but his direct running caused mayhem in the Banner County defence.

15. Patrick Horgan (Cork)

The deadly accurate Horgan converted nine frees and one 65 against Clare and also stroked over four points from play before his precautionary withdrawal due to a hamstring niggle.
