Mid Tipp rivals Thurles Sarsfields and Loughmore-Castleiney will do battle for the Dan Breen Cup next Sunday following their respective semi-final wins over Templederry Kenyons and Mullinahone at Semple Stadium this afternoon.

Aidan McCormack posted 0-9 as Sars, who started without county star Lar Corbett, qualified for their fourth final in six years. The town side led by 0-9 to 0-5 at the break, despite clocking up nine wides, and they continued to hold the upperhand thanks to scores from McCormack and Pa Bourke after the restart.

The winners increased their lead to seven points before Gearoid Ryan managed a late consolation goal for the underdogs.

In the first semi-final, holders Loughmore-Castleiney cruised to a 3-22 to 0-14 victory over Mulliahone. Liam Treacy and Evan Sweeney scored 1-3 each in a game which was never really a contest.

John McGrath's early goal helped Loughmore to a 1-12 to 0-7 interval lead as five points from Eoin Kelly was not enough to prevent a heavy defeat for Mullinahone.
