The draw for the Tipperary SHC quarter-finals has thrown up some intriguing pairings.

Semple Stadium will host quarter-final double-headers next Saturday and Sunday. On Saturday, Mullinahone will face Kidangan at 3.30pm, followed by the meeting of Clonoulty-Rossmore and county champions Loughmore-Castleiney at 5pm.

The following day, Templederry Kenyons will meet Burgess at 2.30pm, with the clash of town sides Thurles Sarsfields and Nenagh Eire Og taking place at 4pm.

The most eye-catching result of last weekend's games was Sarsfields' 3-17 to 1-20 victory over Drom-Inch, which was watched by a crowd of over 3,000 at Semple Stadium. Lar Corbett bagged 2-3 for the locals, whose cause was undoubtedly helped by the 20th minute dismissal of Drom-Inch's county midfielder James Woodlock.

Loughmore-Castleiney cruised to a 4-27 to 1-20 win over last year's intermediate champions Ballina, Templederry defeated Moycarkey-Borris 2-19 to 1-17, Burgess came from behind to edge out Borris-Ileigh 0-21 to 2-14, Kildangan overcame Lorrha-Dorra 3-22 to 2-21, while Clonoulty-Rossmore avenged their West final defeat to Eire Og, Annacarty with a 3-18 to 1-17 win.

Mullinahone, meanwhile, repeated their South final victory over Killenaule - who were minus the injured John 'Bubble's O'Dwyer - with a 1-18 to 0-13 win.
