Richie Hogan has been chosen as the Hurler of the Year by the Sunday Game panel.

Despite being replaced by Henry Shefflin in the 58th minute of Saturday's All-Ireland SHC final replay, Hogan was the panel's unanimous choice with his Kilkenny team-mate TJ Reid and Tipperary full forward Seamus Callanan receiving honourable mentions.

Unsurprisingly, All-Ireland champions Kilkenny have the biggest representation on the Sunday Game's Team of the Year with seven players, one more than Tipp. Limerick are the only other county to have players - Seamus Hickey and Shane Dowling - on the team.
