The first Sunday in September could only mean one thing: the All-Ireland hurling finals at Croke Park!

In the big one, Kilkenny and Tipperary went head-to-head again in an unforgettable Liam MacCarthy Cup decider. This was the game everybody had been talking about all week but at 3:30 this afternoon the talking stopped and the hurling took centrestage.

Could the Cats scoop their tenth title under the stewardship of Brian Cody or would Eamon O'Shea secure his first All-Ireland crown as Tipp boss? An intriguing match went right down to the wire...

The curtain-raiser was also a thriller as Limerick and Kilkenny locked horns in the All-Ireland MHC final.

As ever, the hoganstand.com Match Tracker provided full text commentary on both games.
