Soccer bad boy Joey Barton is doing a great job promoting Gaelic games.

Last week, the QPR midfielder was impressed with the 'intensity' of the Dublin v Monaghan All-Ireland SFC quarter-final and this evening he revealed to his 2.66 million followers on Twitter how he had decided to switch over from the Premier League opener between Newcastle and Manchester City on Sky Sports 1 to the All-Ireland SHC semi-final between Tipperary and Cork on Sky Sports 4.

"Half time switch over to the hurling for me..." he said in a tweet which was re-tweeted by Tipp captain Brendan Maher.

Later, the GAA-liking Scouser commented: "These hurling fella don't even wear gloves. Fingers like steel... #somegame"
