Drumcliffe/Rosses club notes

October 09, 2017

It's a big week for our junior men's footballers as they take on St Molaise Gaels this Friday night (Oct 13th), under lights, at the Sligo GAA Centre of Excellence in the Junior 'B' Championship final. As they did in the league campaign, the team have reached the championship final unbeaten and would appreciate big club support at Scarden this Friday night for this county decider against our neighbours. Throw-in is at 8:30pm. We wish Paddy Gormley, James McTiernan and the players every success.

The venue for the senior team's Belfry SFC relegation final against Curry, provisional scheduled for this Saturday at 5pm, was still being finalised at the time of writing.

Saturday morning GAA nursery coaching will continue for two more weeks before wrapping up for 2017. Our end-of-season party will take place in Oxfield on Saturday morning, Oct 21st. Nursery coaches will communicate more info to parents about this event shortly.

Drumcliffe Handball Club have started a new season of Saturday morning coaching in Oxfield. Coaching for players aged 6 up to adult (of all abilities) takes place every Saturday morning. See the Drumcliffe Handball Club's Facebook page for more info.

Congratulations to North Sligo Athletic Club who celebrated their 40th anniversary with a very enjoyable Gala banquet in the Radisson Hotel last Friday night.

The club extends sympathy to Catherine Carroll on the passing of her mother Mary Kate Walshe (Tourlestrane) , and to the O'Dowd families (Kintogher & Urlar) following the death Kathleen Costello, grandmother of Alan O'Dowd.
