Sligo manager Niall Carew believes that the Sunday Game's panel deserve praise for the views on the All-Ireland SFC final.

Carew was writing about Joe Brolly, Pat Spillane and Colm O'Rourke's analysis of the game that ended in a draw between Mayo and Dublin.

Admitting to being one of their harshest critics, Carew wrote that this time, the controversial trio were spot on with their comments.

"I never thought I would compliment the three musketeers in their balanced view of the game on Sunday," writes Carew.

"In fairness, I have been critical of Brolly, O'Rourke and Spillane in the past for having agendas against different managers and teams.

"And there is no doubt about that when you think about what they have said about Tyrone and Sean Cavanagh and Kieran McGeeney.

"However, this time, they had no agenda and nailed everything. So, give credit where credit is due, ye played well on Sunday. But in fairness, ye were due a good game at some stage."
