Drumcliffe/Rosses club notes

September 19, 2016

It's been an eventful, and successful week on the footballing front with our U14 girls footballers securing a place in the county semi-final following an impressive 4-2 to 2-6 victory away to Shamrock Gaels. to set up a semi-final meeting with St Mary's.

The girls Under 16s also produced an impressive championship performance to beat Eastern Harps by 4-12 to 3-6 with Eimear Colreavy contributing 4-4 of her side's tally.

Congrats to Mary Moore who won our All-Ireland final ticket draw last week. Mary is originally from Mayo so she will have enjoyed the finish to last Sunday's drawn game at Croke Park. Roll on the replay on Saturday week!

Hard luck to the Benbulben Gaels hurlers who battled courageously in last Thursday's County Final at Markievicz Park before going down to Easkey/St Farnan's on a final scoreline of 4-9 to 3-6.

The boys minor footballers were well beaten by Ballymote in the semi-final of the Shield Championship last Friday evening. The U13s made a winning start to the Féile league with a comfortable victoray against Shamrock Gaels.

We congratulate team captain Shane Flanagan and the Co Sligo Golf team on their superb All-Ireland Senior Cup success at Carton House last weekend.
