Drumcliffe Rosses Point GAA Club Notes

The draw for the Belfry Senior Football Championship relegation play-off was made on Sunday evening. Our men's senior team will face St John's in their semi-final this weekend - with the winners to play either St Molaise Gaels or Geevagh in the play-off decider. Three teams will be demoted from senior championship football in Sligo this year so the stakes couldn't be higher. We wish manager Stephen Ward and his players every success this weekend. Confirmation of the time and venue for the St John's game can be found on our Social media pages.
2015 is proving to be an exceptional year for underage girls football in the club. Our newest county champions, the girls minors, are preparing for their Connacht Club semi-final clash against St Brigid's of Leitrim next month. Meanwhile, both our U12 and U14 girls footballers are through to county finals. Our girls U12 footballers are preparing to contest the 'B' Championship decider against Shamrock Gaels on October 11th (venue tbc) while our U14s are already assured of a place in the county final too after winning their opening three group matches. The U14s play St Mary's in a friendly on Wednesday before traveling to Keash for their concluding group match against Eastern Harps at the weekend. The club congratulates both teams on their respective achievements to date. The U14 'B' championship final is provisionally fixed for Saturday, October 24th. Venue tbc.
Our boys U13 footballers picked their third win on the trot in the Feile league on Sunday morning with an emphatic 8-7 to 3-2 victory against Coolera/Strandhill at Oxfield.
Good luck to our club players who are involved in Connacht Colleges action with Summerhill College this Wednesday against St Jarlath's Tuam.
The club's GAA nursery will continue every Saturday morning at Oxfield until October 24th., which will be our final Saturday for the year. More details on this in the coming weeks.
