Sligo manager Niall Carew is adamant that the future is bright for the Yeats County.
The Connacht's side interest in this year's campaign came to an end at Croke Park last Saturday as Tyrone came out on top in their round 4B All-Ireland qualifier.
Following their drubbing at the hands of Mayo in the Connacht SFC final, there has been mixed reaction to Sligo's campaign, but Carew stressed to the Sligo Champion that there were plenty of positives to take from the campaign.
"It was a big year in terms of all the new players coming through. The likes of Eoin Flanagan, Daniel Maye, Niall Murphy, Cian Breheny, Criostoir Davey and Kevin McDonnell have all been really good and it is great to see new names like these coming through," said Carew.
"Having Pat Hughes as full forward has been working really well and also Mark Breheny who has been reeling in the years for Sligo has shown yet again that he can compete. He is a super captain.
"We're going to have Johnny Martyn back from injury next year and also Darren McConnon who will show that we can push on."
