Hyde Park to host Connacht SFC final

The Connacht Council have announced that Dr Hyde Park will be the venue for their provincial football final between Sligo and Mayo on Sunday 19 July.
Sligo had choice of venue for the decider but with Markievicz Park ruled out due to its reduced capacity, they were expected to chose between Salthill or Castlebar, with Dr Hyde Park also thought to be too small.
However, Connacht Council have said that an event management plan will be in place which will see the capacity for the venue rise to 20,000, which is expected to be cater for demand from supporters.
