Drumcliffe Rosses Point GAA Club Notes

April 13, 2015

The club's monthly meeting for April has been deferred until next Monday 20th at the later time of 9pm in Oxfield. This is to allow club officers attend a special County Board meeting this week.

The senior men's team drew 1-7 a-piece with St John's in the SFL Division 1 on Saturday evening in Oxfield. The concession of an injury-time goal cost the lads victory. The team's next assignment is away to St Molaise Gaels next Sunday afternoon.

Our intermediate ladies have a busy week ahead. The girls travel to Boyle on Thursday for a Connacht League game. Then, on Sunday, they're away to Curry in the Intermediate league. That game has a 12pm throw-in.

Congrats to club players Cian Lally and Sean Power, and selector Justin Lyons who were all part of the Sligo Minor panel which clinched the Connacht Minor League title on Saturday with an 11 points to 10 win over Mayo in Quigibar. It's Sligo first minor league title success since 1984.

The U16 girls enjoyed another win in the league against Calry/St Joseph's. Well done to all involved.

The club held a very enjoyable GAA Nursery morning last Saturday on the school pitch in Rosses Point. We'd like to extend our appreciation to principal Dearbhla Gill and the staff of Scoil Réalt na Mara for making their facilities available. The nursery is back in Oxfield this Saturday 18th. Outdoor training for U6s starts at 9:45am sharp. U8 & U10 at 10:30am. New players are always welcome.

Good luck to our U12 hurlers who play their Connacht Suck Valley League semi-final this Saturday 18th in Ballyhaunis

The club's monthly newsletter will be emailed to all club members this Wednesday 15th. You can subscribe to receive it via the drp.gaa.ie website.

We extend sympathy to club member Bridie O'Reilly following the death of her mother Minnie Lawless in Loughrea, County Galway.
