Enniscrone/Kilglass GAA notes

April 07, 2015

Intermediate
The intermediate team take on Shamrock Gaels in round three of the Division Two league next Sunday afternoon at 3pm in Coola. Best of luck to all involved.

Minor
The minor team lost to Easkey in the opening round of the Division Two league last Thursday evening, 0-8 to 2-8 the final score. A decent team display was overshadowed by poor execution and shooting, but managers and players alike will take plenty of positive a game they dominated from start to finish. Next Tuesday, the boys will hope to get off the mark when they play Ballymote in Corran Park at 6.30pm.

U-16
Well done to our U-16 team on going top of the Division Three league following a well-earned 3-8 to 1-7 win over Bunninadden at Quigabar last Friday evening. The lads are now two from two in the competition and will hope to continue this run when they play Geevagh away from home next Thursday evening at 6.30pm.

U-14
Our U-14s played out an exciting 4-11 to 7-2 draw with Easkey last Wednesday evening. The team put in an excellent display and were extremely unlucky to only secure a draw, after Easkey scored a last minute penalty after a dubious decision. Nonetheless, the team will look to secure their first win when they host Castleconnor in Quigabar next Friday at 6.30pm.

U-12
Our u-12 team begin their Division Three campaign when they travel to take on Geevagh at 7pm. Training continues this week.

U-8/U-10
Training for the u-8s and u-10s continues every Wednesday evening from 7-8pm in Quigabar. All welcome.

Membership
Membership is now overdue for 2015. If you still have to register, please try to get it to a committee member or relevant team manager ASAP. All players must be registered.

SSE Airtricity funding
We are thrilled and very grateful to SSE Airtricity after they presented the club with a cheque of €3800, the sum of which will go towards the installation of a solar panel water-heating system for the club. This is invaluable for us in making our club more efficient energy-wise and we greatly acknowledge the contribution of SSE Airtricity to the local community.

Super Cooper 5k
Enniscrone was the hive of activity on Good Friday with the Super Cooper 5k taking place. It was a wonderful display of community spirit with hundreds taking part and we played our part with many members participating or manning the course. We wish Jenna and her family all the best in the weeks and months ahead. Well done to everyone.

Blotto
The blotto draw continues with the rising up to the €4,400 mark. Get your ticket in any local pub or shop. Your support is greatly appreciated.
