Former Sligo All Star Eamonn O'Hara believes Galway 'will be a force to be reckoned with' under Kevin Walsh.

O'Hara was hugely critical of the former Sligo manager following the Yeats County's shock Connacht SFC defeat to London two years ago but, in an interview with Galway Bay FM, he described Walsh as a 'fantastic coach'.

"He is the messiah down there and the one thing I always thought about Kevin was that he was a fantastic coach," remarked the 2002 All-Star.

"He brought fellas along. He made average footballers in Sligo become good footballers.

"But Galway already have good footballers. My own club (Tourlestrane) would have played a good few challenges against Galway clubs last year, the likes of Mountbellew, and some of the club footballers around there are top quality, but none of them really committed to the inter-county scene.

"If Kevin can get those guys in, plus the fellas that are already there, I genuinely believe Galway will be a force to be reckoned with in the coming years.

"He will definitely push hard for promotion this year. I have them tipped to get promoted this year.

"It is a big ask and it is a very competitive division, but I do think Galway will be there or thereabouts."
