Sligo manager Niall Carew admits that the trials he held in the county went well.

Carew has looked at over 100 players in the last few weeks as he puts together a squad for the 2015 campaign.

Sligo begin their season on January 4th as they face Galway in the Connacht FBD League opener.

Over the past few weeks, there has been a series of trial games played and Carew is pleased with the talent on show.

"It went fairly well. It's hard to know really. We can't do anything wrong at this stage as we have had no game," Carew told the Sligo Champion.

"For us now, it is about getting the panels together and getting the panels together and getting into training as quickly as we can for the FBD.

"I'm looking forward to that as it gives us at least three games and four if we make it through. It means that three Sundays in January are filled and we have three games under our belts."
