Breheny hails good start

October 01, 2014

St Mary's manager Tommy Breheny believes that the good start they got to their semi-final win over St John's paved the way for their success.

The eventual winners led by 0-08 to 0-01 at the break and Breheny feels that there was no way back for their opponents after that.

Speaking to the Sligo Champion he said: "We played there in the earlier round and the one thing we wanted to make sure was we had a good start. We got that.

"There would be no complacency in this side after the previous game. We were expecting a hard game. We were really up for it. In the first half we really drove the game on and there was great movement."

St Mary's will now play Tubbercurry in the county final after they defeated defending champions Tourlestrane in the other semi-final to avenge last year's county final defeat.
