Tourlestrane GAA Club Notes

September 26, 2014

Congratulations to our U-16 boys team and management made up of Leo Gaughan, David Bailey and Eamonn Durkin, on becoming County U-16 League and Championship winners. The team were crowned championship winners on Tuesday last in Markievicz Park when they overcame Bunninadden on a score of 6-12 to 2-11. After the game, team captain, Liam Gaughan accepted the cup on behalf of the team. It is a huge achievement for any team to win both cups, well done to all involved.

Our Senior Hurlers put up a gallant fight against Western Gaels in the championship semi final on Saturday last but unfortunately came up short by the minimal when they lost on a score of 2-11 to 1-12. Credit to the players and management who have worked very hard throughout the season resulting in some excellent results this year.

Our Senior men take to the field this Sunday (28th of September) at 4.14pm in Markievicz Park when they take on Tubbercurry in the Belfry Senior Championship Semi Final. Best of luck to the team and management. We courage our supporters to get out in numbers for this local derby.
