A highly-rated Kerry team turned on the style after half-time to leave Sligo in their wake in today's All-Ireland JFC semi-final at Cusack Park, Ennis.

The sides were level on 0-8 apiece at the interval, but the Kingdom resumed by reeling off an unanswered 1-7 to end the game as a contest. Corner forward Gavin O'Grady was outstanding for the winners, with 0-7 of his 0-9 tally coming from play.

After the teams had been level twice in the early stages, the Munster champions surged into a 0-8 to 0-3 lead with O'Grady and Ciaran Keating both on target. But Sligo finished the first half with a flourish as Barry O'Mahony, Cathal Brennan and Mark McGoldrick notched up scores to leave it level pegging at the break.

Kerry regrouped at half-time and fired seven points without reply on the restart before subs Alan O'Donoghue and Dara Roche combined for the latter to finish to the net.

Ray Connolly eventually broke the winners' scoring sequence, but it continued to be one-way traffic as centre back Denis Daly wrapped up the victory with a fine individual goal late on.
