Sligo full back Johnny Martyn admitted that they nearly threw the game away against Limerick.

The Connacht side booked their place in the next round of the qualifiers where they will face Cork at Tullamore on Saturday week.

However, they made hard work of the win and Martyn stressed to the Sligo Champion that they will need to show an improvement against the Rebels.

"We nearly threw it away, I suppose. We came back at it again," said Martyn. "Hopefully, we'll improve the next day."

"We've had two good wins, but I think we are playing at fifty per cent, there's another fifty per cent in us. We're going to have to find that for the next day." Tweet
