Offaly Senior Football Championship 

 

Rhode Seniors Footballers continued their unbeaten run in the Senior championship with a win over neighbours Edenderry on a score-line of 0-09 to 0-06 in Bord Na Mona O'Connor Park on Wednesday evening last. Before throw in a minute silence was held in memory of our former club President Christy Darby. 

 

Team: Ken Garry, James McPadden, Shane Sullivan, Stephen Hannon, Ciaran Heavey, Brian Darby, Niall Darby, Alan McNamee, Conor McNamee, Anton Sullivan, Pauric Sullivan, Gareth McNamee, Paul McPadden, Darren Garry, Niall McNamee. Subs used: Ruairi McNamee for Darren Garry, Jake Kavanagh for Gareth McNamee, Donal Hickey for Pauric Sullivan. 

 

Rhode Senior Footballers now play Gracfield in the second last round on Sunday August 20th in Bord Na Mona O'Connor Park Tullamore at 1:30pm. 

 

 

Intermediate Relegation Play/off 

 

Rhode Intermediates take on Tullamore in an aim to stay up on Friday August 18th in St.Brigids GAA  Park Croghan at 7:30pm . 

 

 

50th Anniversary 1966-67 Offaly Senior Football & 67 U,21 Championship Winning Teams Celebrations

 

Following a year Rhode Senior Footballers captured The Offaly Senior Championship for the 27th time we cannot forget the triumphant 1966/1967 Senior and 1967 U,21 Rhode Championship winning Teams of the Past as 2016/2017 Marks the 50th Anniversary of their Glorious achievements as they went on to nail their mark as Legends in the Rhode and Offaly History books.

 

Celebrations will commence on Sunday the 27th of August with mass for the deceased members of Rhode GAA club at 11:30 am in St. Peters Church Rhode. 

 

That evening members and representatives of the 1966/67 Senior & 1967 U,21 Championship winning teams will sit down to a meal in Killeen's. 

 

Following this there will be a presentation made to them at 7:30 pm in Killeen's Croghan lounge which is open to all family, friends and anyone wishing to attend to celebrate the wonderful achievements of these men.

 

 

The Following Men will be honoured on the night as to mark the 5oth anniversary of Championship winning Senior 1966-67 and 1967 U,21 Teams
