Rhode GAA Dinner Dance

Rhode GAA Dinner Dance took place on Saturday night in the Tullamore Court Hotel.  It was definitely a packed Room of Legends from Kerry ,Offaly and indeed Rhode. Chairman Joe Malone opened proceedings with an exellent speech welcoming all in attendence   and highlighting the hard work of everyone that brought us to winning our 27th County Title.  Fr. Greg said Grace before meals and with that we sat to a lovely meal . Our MC on the Night Michael Duignan got the ball rolling on interviewing a few players. First up on behalf of Offaly County  board was offaly Legend Damien Martin who gave an excellent speech. Our Friend and Colleague John Glennon could not be with us on the Night but he was not forgotten as P.R.O Robert kellaghan read out a special Tribute on John's dedication to Rhode GAA Club there was a standing ovation forJohn. Then came the presentations to Joe Masterson and Pat Smullen.  Joe's son Colm collected his presentation on his behalf and thanked the club on his behalf for the honour.  Then the presentation to pat took place and Pat did a mighty interview with Michael Duignan thanking the club for the honour and it be one that he will cherish the most. Michael then sat down with Tomas OSe which was something you could have listened to all night. Following on from that Club Manager Paschal kellaghan spoke thanking players, Management,  club and supporters for their hard work over 2016. It was then down to the main event of the night the Players medal presentation by Tomas OSe in groups of three they proudly made their way up to collect the coveted County and league medals in front of a crowd of 210.  there then was a small presentation made to the management team on behalf of the players by team Joint Captain Conor McNamee.

There was only one thing that could be done then was dance the night away .
