LOTTO

The numbers drawn in the Lotto draw which took place on Tuesday 03 January were 02 12 15 26. There was no Jackpot winner of €11,000 and 2 Match 3 Winners [Maureen Maher C/O Eddie Kaye; Ger McDonald C/O Ger McDonald] [€100 Each]. Next week's draw will take place in High Chap, Geashill on Monday 16 Jan 2017.

 

CLUB AGM

There was a large turnout at the Re-Convened AGM of Raheen GAA which took place last Friday 06th January in the Clubhouse Geashill . There were many issues discussed and agreed upon . The following officers were elected :

Chairman - John Hackett; Vice Chairman - Niall Carthy ; Secretary - Eddie Kaye ; Ass Secretary - Padraig Direen; Treasurer - Owenie Connor ; Ass Treasurer - Matthew O'Byrne ; PRO - Ray Garry ; Membership Officers: Paddy Bracken & Padraig Direen; County Board Delegates: John Hackett & Ray Garry; Honary Club Presidents: Sean Carthy & Malachy Bolton (RIP). The following Committee members were also elected: John Garry, Declan Costello, Brendan Byrne, Sean Carthy, Hughie Bolton, Brian Corcoran, Damien Grehan, Ciaran Cummins, Liam Boland Snr, Noel Gorman & Brian Crombie.

 

O'BYRNE CUP

It was with great pleasure that the Raheen GAA Club grounds in Geashill last Sunday hosted Offaly Senior Football's opening competitive encounter of 2017 against Carlow IT in Rd 1 of the O'Byrne Cup where Offaly recorded a comprehensive win. Raheen GAA Club would like to thank Offaly County Board for allowing us to host this fixture along with the O'Connor Pk Stewards and our own club Stewards who both turned up and helped out in big numbers along with anybody else who helped out to ensure the smooth hosting of the fixture. We would also like to thank Msgnr Coonan for the use of his field on the day for parking.

PLAYERS MEETING

A Players Meeting will take place this Friday evening (13 Jan) at 8 PM in the Clubhouse, Geashill where the new Senior manager will meet the players and outline his plans for the year. All Current and any other Players with any interest in playing for Raheen this year are all asked to attend. Please pass on the word to any player(s) who may not have played with Raheen last year or in preceeding years.

 

Na Fianna club notes

CALENDER

As a momento of the hugely successful year that's been Na Fianna GAA Football Club have produced a 2017 Calender with photographs of all the teams from U6 upwards including the all conquering U14 A & C Championships & League winning teams and the U16 A Championship winning team. Priced at just €10. Available from the management team of any of the underage teams, Paurig Gallagher, Damien Grehan, Pauric Pierce or Ray Garry.

CLUB AGM

The AGM of Na Fianna Minor Football Club will take place on Friday 20th January 2017 at 8:00pm in the Clubhouse in Geashill. All players, officials and members of the football club are asked to attend.

 

U14 & U16 FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP WINNERS PRESENTATION OF MEDALS

2016 will go down in history as the most successful year to date for Na Fianna GAA Football Club which saw our players bring unprecedented success to the club as they won the U14 A & C and the U16 A Football Championships along with the U14 Feile Football League. All these teams will be presented with their winning medals at a function in their honour on Sunday 22 Jan 2017 from 3 - 7 pm in the Bridge House, Tullamore. This promises to be a great afternoon of celebration. Tickets priced at €20 Adults or €10 Kids which all include a Buffet Meal can be obtained from Paurig Gallagher, Pauric Pierce, Ken Beatty or Tom Keogh. All are invited to attend.

 

 

SUPPORT RAHEEN GAA CLUB - GAA National Club Draw.

Prizes include a New Car, Trip with the 2017 All Stars, Corporate Package to the 2017 All Ireland Football and Hurling Finals and Shopping Vouchers. Draw takes place on Wednesday, March 8th 2017 but All Tickets must be Returned to Raheen GAA Club no later than Friday 10 Feb 2017 to be included in the draw. Tickets cost €10 each with all funds raised on tickets sold through Raheen GAA Club being retained by the club. Tickets can be obtained from John Hackett, Eddie Kaye or any Committee Member. All Support would be appreciated.

MEMBERSHIP

Members are asked to renew their membership as soon as possible but all membership must be paid by the end of February 2017. Subscriptions are Playing Members €30, Students €20 & Non Playing Members €20 & OAP's: €15. Payments can be given to Membership Officers Paddy Bracken or Padraig Direen. New members are very welcome.
