Na Fianna club notes

U14 A FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP SEMI FINAL

Na Fianna U14 Footballers are through to the A Championship Final for the third year in a row as they lived up to their favourites tag by easily overcoming the challenge of St Vincents in the Semi Final last Monday week in Walsh Island on a scoreline of 9-09 to 0-07. Na Fianna tore into their opponents from the off as they got off the mark with deadly force as their first 3 scores were all green flags from Morgan Tynan (2) and Barry Crombie, the first Adam Mangan's overhead shot palmed to the net by Morgan, the second Barry's shot lobbed over the keeper, the third Adam Mangan's shot came off the crossbar with Morgan reacting quickest to palm it to the net. Ryan Strong raised Na Fianna's first white flag on 10 mins before Morgan Tynan completed his hattrick on 16 mins with Na Fianna's 4th goal. St Vincents did break their duck on 20 mins with their first point before adding 3 more before the end of the half but in the same time Morgan Tynan not content with his hattrick claimed his 4th and fifth goals so at the break Na Fianna were cruising with a lead of 6-01 to 0-04. St Vincents were first off the mark in the second half but by the time they got their next point midway through the half Na Fianna had added another 1-05 with the goal dispatched by Adam Mangan. Na Fianna tagged on 2 more points before substitute Mark Kelly showed what he has to offer as he got in on the action by bagging himself 2 goals. Thereafter both sides completed their tally with a single point apiece. In the Final Na Fianna (the current holders) will meet Clara whom they overcame in the Feile league Final earlier in the year.
