Intermediate Hurling Championship Semi Final

Clodiagh Gaels 2-17 Clara 2-12. We progressed to the Intermediate hurling final for the second successive year as we defeated Clara in what was a dogged and difficult encounter. It was a cagey first half with both sides exchanging points and we went in two points ahead at the interval. We were quickest out of the blocks in the second half with Colm Gleeson finding the net. From there on it was score for score with Josh Fleming hitting the net for Clara to reduce the arrears to a point with twenty minutes remaining. From then on we tagged on points through Dwayne Dunne (4), Shane Dolan and Liam Langton before Dwayne Dunne dropped a sixty five minute free short to the net to put us seven ahead with two minutes remaining. Darren Scanlon scored a goal for Clara with a minute remaining to reduce the deficit to four points and Cathal Curran pointed with the puck of the game to seal a five point win.

St Sinchills Camogie Club

Good luck to the St Sinchills ladies who play Naomh Brid in the Junior County Camogie Final on Saturday the 1st of October at 1pm in St Brendan's Park Birr.
