Johnny Moloney could be set for a spell on the sidelines after coming off injured in Offaly's Allianz League victory over Longford.

The vice-captain and centre back was replaced midway through the first half by Cian Donoghue after suffering a leg injury which Offaly manager Pat Flanagan hopes is only ligament damage. Moloney has all but being ruled out of next weekend's local derby against Kildare.

Flanagan was pleased with the Faithful's performance against the team that had knocked them out of last year's Leinster SFC.

"People would say that there was a big wind out there, but we scored seven points into it (in the first half), so to hold Longford scoreless was good going. The only pity was that weren't doing the business at the other end," he said.
