Underage Management Appreciation evening

On Friday evening last Rhode Minor Club treated underage coaches from Rhode Warriors to the U,16 team  to a lovely 2 course meal along with Tea-Coffee in appreciation for all their hard work over the year. Also on the night they were given a presentation  on Coaching and football development by Offaly coaching Officer Liam Reilly. Over 22 Coaches attended the evening Friday night and a very enjoyable evening was had by all. Speakers on the Night were Coaching Co-ordinator Stephen Darby, Rhode Minor chairman Cathal Smyth and Club Chairman Seamus Maguire all whom expressed their thanks to the coaches for all their hard work and look forward to working with them again. Also in attendance On the night were Joint P.R.O Robert Kellaghan and the three wonderful ladies who served up a lovely meal  and deserve great thanks for all their great work on the Night Club treasurer Patricia McManus , Children's Officer Marie Fitzgerald and special thanks has to go to  Minor secretary Tracey Murphy for organising the event. Thanks is also expressed to Liam Reilly Offaly coaching officer for attending the evening,

Underage training will move to Rhode GAA Hall on Saturday Mornings  for the Winter training programme schedule


Rhode Warriors  9.30 to 10am  Saturday

U,8s 10am to 11am  Saturday

U,14s  Wednesday evening  7pm to 8pm


Mass For Deceased Members of Rhode GAA Club

Mass will be offered up for the deceased members of the club on Sunday next at 11.30am.


Kick For Kolkata

Kick for Kolkata is a unique fundraiser  where they travel around to 32 counties and visit every GAA ground as well as some county grounds in order to raise money for  the street children of Kolkata by kicking a point at each grounds.  The county of Offaly was the target over the weekend and on Sunday morning last current Tipperary star kevin Riordan and his father Mick arrived  at  the home of Rhode GAA Club Fr.Dowling Park . On hand to greet them were former Offaly and Rhode stars Johnny Mooney, Stephen Darby and Rhode Kitman and committee member Oliver Murphy.  To support this worthy cause club members can donate €4 by texting "kick4hope" 50300.

Rhode GAA Club AGM

The Clubs AGM is  on  Friday the 4th of December in Rhode GAA Hall 8pm.

All members and intending members are asked to attend membership will also be taking on the night.

Offaly GAA Convention

The Offaly GAA Convention will take place in O'Connor Park Meeting room Tullamore on Tuesday the 8th of December 2015. Convention delegates will be elected at the Clubs AGM.


Lotto
   There was no winner of the Rhode GAA Lotto Draw that took place on the 16th of November for a Jackpot of €15,000.  The numbers drawn were 7 15 16 24.  The club would like to thank all those who supported the draw and thanks to Doyle's for the use of their premises and for their help and cooperation.  The following matched three numbers and received €100 each

The Rhode GAA Lotto is the main source of income the club has and now you can play online though our website.  The good news is when you play the lotto online you are entitled to free draws, for example pay for seven draws receive the eighth one free, pay for fourteen draws receive two free and so on.  In other words, the more you play the more free draws you are entitled to!

Lester Junior Club Hurling

Massive Congratulations to Lusamagh GAA Club  on reaching the Junior Club Hurling after beating Trumera of Laois 3.15 to 2-8 in the Semi-Final in front of a home crowd Sunday Last. Lusmagh will now play Glenmore of Kilkenny  in the final in two weeks time.

Sympathy

Sympathy is extended to the Conlan family of Rathangan on the death of their mother Brid whose remains were interred in Rathangan cemetery on saturday last.  May She Rest In Peace
