Kelleghan takes Rhode reins

Pascal Kellaghan.

Rhode have confirmed the appointment of Paschal Kelleghan as their new senior football manager.

Kelleghan, who managed Athy to a Kildare SFC final appearance against Sarsfields last month, takes over from Pat Daly, who stepped down in the wake of Rhode's surprise Offaly SFC final loss to Edenderry, with the former Offaly star having appeared as a substitute in that game.

Since leading Meath side Ballinabrackey to county and Leinster club JFC honours in 2010, Kelleghan has earned a reputation as one of the best young managers in the midlands. He made good progress with the Offaly U21s in 2011 and guided Kildare's Monasterevin to county and Leinster club IFC titles in 2012.

It remains to be seen if he will continue his playing career with 'The Village' next year when they will once again aim to equal Tullamore's record of 27 Offaly SFC titles.
