SENIOR B FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP SEMI FINAL
Raheen Senior Footballers playing campaign for 2015 ended last Friday evening with defeat to Durrow in the Senior B Championship semi final in Gracefield on a scoreline of 2-10 to 2-06. It all started so brightly for Raheen as they opened the scoring with the first point inside the first 10 secs and followed it up with the first goal on 6 mins when Richie Reynolds high ball in from midfield was caught by Dylan Hyland in the square and he turned and shot past the keeer into the net. Durrow then got off the mark with their first point on 8 mins and followed it up with 3 more to draw level by the mid point of the half. Over the remainder of the half both sides swapped scores as they added 3 points each so at the break it was still level 1-04 to 0-07. The start of the second half the roles were reversed from the first half as it was Durrow who got the blistering start as they scored a goal and point inside the first min, the goal coming when a high ball into the square was punched to the net. Raheen responded immediately with a point then on 9 mins a quick break downfield by Raheen's John Crombie saw him lay it off to Richie Reynolds on the edge of the square who in turn passed to Jack Keogh and in a scramble he managed to flick it to the net for a goal to draw the sides again level. The sides then swapped points before the decisive moment came at the midpoint of the half when Durrow sent another high ball in from the sideline and alike their first goal they again managed to punch it first time to the net. Unfortunately Raheen could not respond this time and Durrow sealed it with their final point 9 mins from time. Durrow will now play Ballycumber in the final who overcame Tubber in their semi final.

U14 A FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP SEMI FINAL
Na Fianna U14 Footballers are back in the A Championship Final for the second year in a row as they easily overcame Tullamore in the Semi Final last Wednesday week in Croghan on a score-line of 2-16 to 1-04.  Na Fianna controlled the game the whole way through opening the scoring with Mikey Buckley's point straight from the throw in. Tullamore equalised with a pointed free on 5 mins but from then on Na Fianna pulled clear scoring 3 points before raising their first green flag on 12 mins when Emmet Curley's shot from about 40m out bounced over the head of the keeper straight into the net. Both sides added 2 points each before an intercepted kickout saw Morgan Tynan get through to score Na Fianna's second goal. Tullamore did add another point right on the stroke of halftime and so at the break Na Fianna were cruising with a 2-06 to 0-04 lead. Both sides missed a number of early chances in the second half before Mark Dillon slotted over Na Fianna's 1st point of the second half on 9 mins and from here Na Fianna sailed home adding 9 points with Tullamore's only score of the half being a breakaway goal 8 mins from time. In the final Na Fianna will face Ferbane / Belmont again who claimed the title last year and so Na Fianna will be looking to avenge that defeat this time round.
