Under16 Football
Tullamore 2-2 Ballinamere/Durrow 3-7
Tullamore bowed out of the Offaly under-16 football championship after suffering a quarter-final defeat to Ballinamere/Durrow in Cappincur on Sunday last.
A game Tullamore side enjoyed little in the way of good fortune over the course of the afternoon with key player Joe Dwyer suffering an injury early on,while a second half red card when leading by two points proved to be a turning point.
Tullamore opened brightly with Myles Maloney hitting an early goal though Ballinamere/Durrow drew level by the 18th minute with three unanswered points before an Aaron Malone free restored Tullamore's lead.
Playing with the wind at their backs, Ballinamere/Durrow hit the last two points of the half to lead 0-5 to 1-1 at half-time.
Once again, Tullamore started well on the resumption with Jamie Reilly netting a goal to restore their lead before being reduced to 14 men in the 39th minute.
Ballinamere/Durrow struck for a goal to move a point in front and, though Shane Martin drew a hard-working Tullamore side level, they ultimately ran out of the steam in the closing stages as their parish rivals pulled away.
Tullamore: M Lynam; R Hand, B Finn, D Hensey; P Fahey, D Egan, K Kelliher; J Reilly (1-0), M Maloney (1-0); T Furlong, M Feeley, Joe Dwyer; S Martin (0-1), A Malone (0-1f), James Dwyer.
Subs: J Deegan, J Hogan.

Under14 Hurling
Very well done to our U14 First Team Hurlers who beat Shamrocks last Wednesday on a scoreline of 7-14 to 0-3.There were really fabulous scores taken last night and the boys put some lovely moves together. In fairness we don't like dishing out this kind of beating but business is business and a lot of our lads are hurling for their place on the team at this stage. Now that the Second Team have finished with their Championship we now have a working panel of 39 players,- all of whom have something to offer. It's a difficult team to pick and it's even hard to decide on who comes on etc.To be honest, you could pick this team 20 different ways and still be confident going out to play. While we weren't tested last night the lads showed a great appetite for the game and looked very sharp.Doubtless we'll face a stiffer challenge from Shinrone in the semi-final but we'll be well primed for that game,-you can be certain of that.

Senior Hurlers
Our senior hurlers were beaten by a strong Coolderry team in the quarter Final on a score line of 1:19 to 1:09. Tullamore had played well in the first half and were well in it at half time. But Coolderry got off to a good start in the second half and pulled away from there.
