Offaly manager Pat Flanagan admits that they must take one step at a time as they bid to climb the footballing ladder.
Promotion from Division 4 in the league was the first step for the Faithful County and now with that achieved, Flanagan is looking to gain promotion to Division 2 next year.
In the championship, Longford defeated them in Leinster, before they were narrowly beaten by Kildare in the qualifiers and the former Westmeath and Sligo manager is keen to push on next year.
Speaking to the Midland Tribune he said: "It is a matter of progression. I do feel we have put a base in. Unless that base is good and solid, we can't build on that.
"If you build it too quickly, it will all come crumbling down. We have a base in. We have an environment where players want to be and want to come to."
