Former Offaly star Roy Malone has apologised for a tweet accusing a club of not going out with the intention of winning.
Malone, who was one of the heroes of the Faithful County's Leinster SFC triumph of 1997 and continues to line out for Rhode's second team, took to twitter to vent his fury with Cappincur after their surprise defeat to Erin Rovers last Saturday evening cost 'The Village' their place in the IFC semi-finals.
I never have been as disulusioned with gaelic football lately ..always played to win with no fear myself ..cappincur will have no luck 4 dat

Cappincur player Dave Carroll tweeted back:
@roymalone100 Disgraceful comment Roy. You think we played to lose or with half a heart? You should have seen the dressing room after.

Malone later apologised for replying 'cowards!' to Carroll's tweet, an apology which Carroll accepted before wishing Rhode the best of luck for the remainder of the year.
@DaithiOY i apologise for calling you and your team mates cowards..was upset n disappointed at the time and wanted someone to blame. #gaa
