Intermediate Hurling Championship
Well done to our intermediates who won an incredibly entertaining game vs Ballyskenagh/Killavilla on Saturday. The game went into extra time and thankfully The Gaels came out on top. The game was evenly contested all throughout. Clodiagh Gaels went in 3 points up on a score of 0-11 to 0-8 at the break. The second half was when all the action happened with Clodiagh Gaels tagging on points one after another only to be pegged back level with Ballyskenagh/Killavilla getting a goal. B/K got a goal straight after half time to leave the scores level before points from Liam Langton, Dwayne Dunne, Nigel Cunningham and David Buckley put us further ahead only to be back level after B/K got two goals in the last 5 minutes to leave the score even once again. B/K very nearly snatched the win only for a Peter Walsh goal saving challenge which meant we were going to extra time.
As we went to extra time it was all Clodiagh Gaels from there on and the youth and extra fitness really told as we outscored the opposition 1-10 to 1-1 with points coming from Liam Langton, Dwayne Dunne, Nigel Cunningham, Shane Dolan and a well taken goal from David Buckley. We prevailed in this thriller on a score of 1-29 to 4-12. We would like to thank our supporters for coming, getting behind us and driving us onto victory and onto the semi final vs Drumcullen.
