Offaly set for busy time

The Offaly County Board will be focusing on new managers for the remainder of the year as they have no fewer than three to elect at the moment.

That number could yet increase, but as it stands, the Faithful County need new senior, minor (football) and under-21 hurling managers.

Brian Whelehan's decision to step down last week obviously made national headlines, but he was preceded by Joe Errity (minor hurling) and Keith Begley (minor football) in stepping down from their positions.

Already names are been bandied about as to who will take over from the three mentioned, although no decisions are expected to be made until later in the year.

Meanwhile, football manager Pat Flanagan is due to have a review of his position this week, but it is understood that he is keen to stay and will be recommended by the county board to do so.
