On Friday Night the Rhode Under 14 Team gathered along with Club officials and sponsor in Fr. Dowling Park to be presented with their New set of Jerseys kindly sponsored by John & Orla Kilmurray  Eden Decor.

On Presentation Rhode GAA Chairman  Seamus Maguire thanked John  for his support and reminded the players that when they go out in their new jerseys to remember they wear them for Rhode and always have pride in that.  John Kilmurray then spoke adding he was proud to sponsor the Under 14 team and he hoped that every time they play they will have pride in the Jersey. On Behalf Of The Under 14 Management team manager Colm Spollen thanked John & Orla and the Club for their massive support adding that there was massive time  ahead for the team as they have their last group game coming up in the championship.  Ending proceedings the photographer for the Local Papers took a number of wonderful photographs of the Team in their new Jerseys.

Rhode GAA would again like to thank John & Orla Kilmurray for their Wonderful  support and sponsorship also thanks  to the local media photographers and Rhode GAA Officials who attended on the night.

 

 

The Rhode GAA Cul Camp is taking place this week and there is a good attendances.  The camp begins at 10am to 2.30pm each day for 6 to 10 year old boys and girls.  It is a wonderful opportunity for the children to play our native games, learn the skills and meet new friends.  There will be a number of coaches coordinated by Alan Mulhall and John Leahy Offaly GAA coaching coordinators.  For any information required please con tact Minor Club Secretary Tracey Murphy or Minor Chairman Cathal Smyth.  

 

 

Minor Championship Rhode v St Rynagh's in Cloghan on Wednesday at 7.30pm

Under 16 Championship Rhode v Kilcormac/Killoughey in Kilcormac on Monday the 27th at 7.30pm

Under 14 Championship Rhode v Gracefield in Gracefield on Friday at 7.30pm

Intermediate Championship Rhode v Tullamore in Geashill on Sunday at 5.30pm

Senior Championship Rhode v St. Brigid's in Edenderry on Sunday at 12noon.

 

 

Rhode had three teams at the Under 8 Go Games in Clara on Saturday and all three teams played very well winning all their games.  They all had a great day out and thanks to Clara for hosting the event.

There was no winner of the Rhode GAA Lotto Draw that took place on the 13th of July for a Jackpot of €15,000.  The numbers drawn were 7 12 17 18.  The club would like to thank all those who supported the draw and thanks to Killeen's for the use of their premises and for their help and cooperation.  The following matched three numbers and received €35 each

The Rhode GAA Lotto is the main source of income the club has and now you can play online though our website.  The good news is when you play the lotto online you are entitled to free draws, for example pay for seven draws receive the eighth one free, pay for fourteen draws receive two free and so on.  In other words, the more you play the more free draws you are entitled to!!

Get well wishes is extended to all the people of the parish who are ill or hospitalised at the moment especially Liam Swaine, Clair Quinn and May Spollon.

 

 

Sympathy is extended to the Quinn family of Rhode on the death of Noel Welsh who died in Northampton England last week and will be laid to rest in Northampton next weekend.  The deceased was a brother of Kathleen Quinn of Rhode.  May he rest im peace.
