The Leinster SFC got underway this evening with two matches down for decision.

Netwatch Cullen Park hosted the meeting of Carlow and Laois, while in O'Connor Park, Tullamore, Offaly entertained Longford.

Laois were favourites to come through against the Barrowsiders, but Turlough O'Brien's charges had shown signs of improvement in the league.

Offaly and Longford are very familiar with each at this stage as they met for the third time this year, but the Faithful County's demolition of the Midlanders in the NFL Division 4 final sees them tipped to advance in this one.
