Begley points to reality of situation

Offaly minor manager Keith Begley acknowledges the task facing his charges against Dublin in the opening round of the Leinster MFC.

Begley is pleased with his team's preparation, despite the fact that they have been without their schools' players for long periods.

Offaly head to Parnell Park on Saturday as massive underdogs and Begley admitted to the Midland Tribune that the resources Dublin have makes them huge favourites.

"They have fifty full time Games Promotion Officers," said Begley. "It is not a level playing field but we have to go and play them.

"They won by 25 points last year, we are looking at closing the gap and aiming for experience. We have to be realistic and realistically, our aim is to do the best we can and try and get a run through the back door."
