G.A.A CLUB NOTES

LOTTO
The numbers drawn in the Lotto draw which took place on Monday 09 March 2015 were  01 10 14 22. There was No Jackpot Winner of €7,400 and 5 Match 3 Winners [Finbarr Kelly C/O Doyle's; Christy Dunne C/O Doyle's; Claire O'Connell C/O Joe Plunkett; Seamus Keogh C/O Eddie Kaye; Tom Cleary C/O Annette Lanigan] [€80 Each]. Next week's draw will take place in Doyle's, Killeigh on Monday 23 March 2015. 
  
DIVISION 4 HURLING LEAGUE
Raheen Hurlers Div 4 League Rd fixture against Ballyskenach / Killavilla was postponed last Thursday evening due to a waterlogged pitch in Geashill and re-fixed for last Monday night in Geashill.

DIVISION 3 FOOTBALL LEAGUE
Raheen Junior Footballers  who are newly promoted to Div 3 following their sucess in winning the Div 4 title last year had little difficulty in seeing off Rhode In Rd 1 last Friday evening in Rhode on a scoreline of 2-11 to 0-03. Both sides got off the mark with 2 points apiece inside the first 10 mins before Raheen edged in front with 4 points to Rhode's 1 over the remainder of the half to give Raheen the lead at the break 0-06 to 0-03. Raheen doubled their lead with 3 points in a row midway through the second half. Then on 21 mins Keith Quinn done well to keep the ball in down in the corner before crossing it into the square where John Ridgeway met it to punch it past the keeper to the net for the first goal and 2 mins later Paddy Arnold made a run through the middle before planting a shot into the top corner of the net for the second goal. Raheen wrapped it up with the final 2 points before the end as they kept Rhode scoreless for the entire second half.

DIVISION 4 HURLING LEAGUE
Raheen Hurlers continue their Div 4 League campaign this Friday evening (20 March) @ 8:30PM against Brosna Gaels in Geashill. All Support would be appreciated.

CONGRATULATIONS
Raheen GAA Club would like to congratulate our player and referee Fintan Pierce who was part of the IT Carlow Basketball team who won the All Ireland Colleges Div 1 League last week.

MONSTER AUCTION
Raheen GAA Club will holding a Monster Fundraising Auction on the upcoming May Bank Holiday Sunday (03 May) in the GAA Field in Geashill. There will be a wide variety of items on sale with something for everybody. If you have anything that you can donate for the auction it would be greatly appreciated and you can contact any committee member who will organise for item(s) to be collected.

MEMBERSHIP
Members are asked to renew their membership as soon as possible but all membership must be paid by the end of February 2015. Subscriptions are Playing Members €30, Students/ OAP's €15 & Non Playing Members €20. Payments can be given to Membership Officers Paddy Bracken or Padraig Direen. New members are very welcome.

U16 FOOTBALL LEAGUE
Na Fianna U16 Footballers had no joy in their penultimate round of the League against Ballycumber / Tubber last Monday week in Pullough as they lost on a scoreline of 3-15 to 1-08 their first defeat of the campaign. 2 goals midway through the first half for Ballycumber / Tubber were decisive in giving them the lead at half time 2-05 to 0-04. Then in the second half Ballycumber / Tubber playing with the strong breeze took full advantage wrapping it up with a further 1-10 to Na Fianna's 1-04 for whom Joey Kinahan dispatched the goal.

U14 FOOTBALL FEILE LEAGUE
Na Fianna U14 Footballers had little difficulty in getting their 2015 playing campaign off to a winning start as they easily accounted for DER Gaels in Rd 1 of the Feile League last Thursday evening in Pullough on the comprehensive scoreline of 12-13 to 0-02. The first half was a complete onslaught of attack from Na Fianna as they clocked up the scores and by half time they led 10-07 to 0-02. Early in the second half with such a comprehensive lead Na Fianna could afford the opportunity to bring on their full compliment of substitutes and these all accounted for themselves well as Na Fianna increased their tally adding a further 2-06 without a single reply from DER Gaels.

U16 FOOTBALL LEAGUE
Na Fianna U16 Footballers were left to settle for a draw in their final group match of the League against Ferbane / Belmont in Geashill last Friday evening on a scoreline of 2-04 to 0-10. Ferbane opened the scoring with a point straight from the throw in. Na Fianna then got off the mark with their first point on 7 mins followed immediately by their first goal when Craig Strong lobbed the keeper from the edge of the square to the top right corner of the net. The remainder of the half saw both sides add 2 points apiece to leave Na Fianna  leading at the break 1-03 to 0-03. The second half saw Na Fianna edge further ahead when Reece Seery struck for their second goal but a late scoring rally saw Ferbane / Belmont claw it back to salvage the draw which was enough to secure their place in the League Semi Finals

U14 FOOTBALL FEILE LEAGUE
Na Fianna U14 Footballers will be aiming to make it 2 wins out of 2 when they continue the Feile League against Kilcormac / Killoughey this Wednesday evening (18 March) @ 7PM in Geashill.  All Support would be appreciated.

U16 FOOTBALL LEAGUE SEMI FINAL
Na Fianna U16 Footballers take on neighbours St Broughans in the League Semi Final this Friday evening (20 March) @ 6:45pm in Rhode. Best of Luck to Players & Management. All Support would be appreciated.
