DIVISION 1 FOOTBALL LEAGUE
Raheen Senior Footballers made it 2 wins out of 2 in Div 1 of the League as they claimed the spoils against Ferbane last Thursday evening in Geashill on a scoreline of 3-11 to 1-08. Raheen got off the a flyer of a start scoring the first 5 points in a row inside 10 mins. Then Ferbane got going scoring 3 points followed by their goal midway through the half to take the lead. This is how it remained until the last 5 mins of the half when Raheen added 2 points to Ferbane's 1. Then just on the stroke of halftime a disputed lineball saw the ref throw it up which Raheen won kicking it high into the square where John Crombie was on hand to jump with the keeper and he got the touch to punch it to the net for a goal which gave Raheen a lead of 1-07 to 1-04 at the break. The sides added 3 points apiece inside 20 mins of the second half before Raheen clinched it with their second goal on 23 mins similar to the first Dylan Hyland's high ball in to Jack Keogh to punch it past the keeper to the net. Raheen's Paddy Rigney put over a free before wrapping it up with a piledriver of a shot on 27 mins to the top corner of the net for goal no 3. Ferbane did add a pointed free in stoppage time but it was too little too late.

Na Fianna club notes

U16 FOOTBALL LEAGUE
Na Fianna U16 Footballers made it 2 wins out of 2 in the League as they just got the better of Edenderry by the minimum margin last Wednesday evening in Geashill on a scoreline of 5-09 to 5-08.  Na Fianna got off to a dreadfull start as Edenderry opened the scoring with 2 goals inside the first minute. Na Fianna then got going first with 2 points followed by their first goal on 8 mins  from a penalty dispatched by Kaelyn Thompson awarded when Reece Seery was brought down. A point apiece followed before Na Fianna's second goal arrived midway through the half when Joey Kinahan intercepted a short kickout before blasting it past the keeper to the net. The remainder of the half saw Na Fianna add 5 points to Edenderry's 3 and so at the break Na Fianna led 2-08 to 2-04. Again Edenderry made a good start to the half as they scored 1-01 inside 5 mins with the goal coming from a penalty to draw level. Na Fianna responded with 1-01 of their own with the goal coming from Reece Seery who despite being fouled still managed to shoot the ball to the net. Edenderry hit back with 2 points before a hectic 5 min spell from midway through the half saw both sides score 2 goals apiece, both of Na Fianna's from Sean Beatty, the second a cracking shot from the outside the square chipped the keeper and into the top corner of the net.The final 10 mins of the half saw Edenderry add just 1 more point but a lot more activity in the ref's notebook as first both sides were reduced to 14, Reece Seery for Na Fianna and Edenderry's No 8 both shown a straight red following a row then moments later Na Fianna were reduced to 13 when Aaron McKenna was also shown a straight red.
