Offaly hurling manager Brian Whelahan has included nine new faces in a 34-man training panel.

Dual star Joseph O'Connor (St. Rynagh's) has been promoted from the U21s along with Colm Mulrooney (Birr) and Kevin O'Connor (Kinnitty). The other newcomers are Paddy Murphy (Ballinamere), Brendan Murphy (Birr), Shane Kinsella (Kinnitty), Adrian Hynes (Seir Kieran), Niall Houlihan and Gareth Mann (both Tullamore).

Rory Hanniffy, David Kenny, Kevin Brady, Mark Egan and Eoin Ryan, who all featured in this year's All-Ireland qualifier loss to Tipperary in Portlaoise, haven't been included in the provisional panel, which began preparations for 2015 in Athlone IT last weekend.

Players from county champions Kilcormac/Killoughey - who take on Raharney in Sunday's Leinster club SHC semi-final - aren't included either.
