Under 14 Hurling
Tullamore under 14 hurlers took to Killurin pitch last Saturday in a do or die quarter final clash with Kilcormac/Killoughey. Tullamore's young boys performed very well all over the pitch and came out on top in a scoreline of 2-13 to 1-07. Both sides started in determined fashion as they each pointed frees early on with Tullamore first to do so. Tullamore gained the advantage for 15 mins and scored points from Kevin Kelleher, Diarmuid Egan, Jamie O'Reilly (2) and Cormac Izuchukwu  to Kilcormac/Killoughey's I point.  However, the game then swung to the other side and K/K send over 3 points without reply.  Tullamore then stopped the K/K comeback with 2 pointed frees from K Kelleher just before the break to lead at half time 0-08 to 0-05. The second half started like an episode from Love/Hate as both sides stood up and exchanged equal blows for 15 mins. Tullamore struck first with a goal from P Martin and then had to take a blow from K/K as they netted straight away in reply. Tullamore then hit 2 super points from Sean Robilliard and D Egan that would have turned any game but back came K/K and cancelled them with 2 long range points to keep the difference to 3 points, only a puck of a ball. Tullamore then hit the killer blow with a, fortunate, J O'Reilly goal which seemed to knock K/K. To their credit K/K still came at Tullamore but were unfortunate that Ciaran Egan, the crossbar and the defence were not in a generous mood and kept out everything.  As the Tullamore defence stood firm the forwards registered 2 K Kelleher pointed frees each side of a Matthew Keegan point to finish the game deserving winners on a score line of Tullamore 2-13 Kilcormac/Killoughey 1-07. Credit must go to both sides for a most entertaining game and K/K can feel somewhat unlucky as not only were they without the inspiration of the injured C Kiely but also the woodwork, twice, came to Tullamore's rescue which could have changed the game. Tullamore had great performances from C Egan, Darragh Connolly, Aidan Bracken, Cormac Izuchukwu, Sean Robilliard, Alex Guilfoyle, Jamie O Reilly with a superb Man of the Match display from centre back Kalvin Fenlon. Thanks to all the parents, families and friends for the great support on the day and would appreciate your continued support of the team in their semi- final fixture with Na Fianna on Saturday 25th. Tullamore: C Egan, D Connolly, J Mitchel, J Dwyer, A Bracken, K Fenlon, K Mann, D Egan, C Izuchukwu,  K Kelleher (0-05 frees), S Robilliard (0-01), A Guilfoyle,  P Martin (1-00), J O'Reilly (1-03), M Keegan, C Kelly, M Feeney, S Courtney, C Farrell, C Digan, C Lambe, C Martin, C Waters, D Molloy, E O'Connor, A Berry, C Mills Gorman
