Under  8 Hurling
Our under 8 hurlers finished up their very successful season on Saturday last with a blitz in Durrow. They played teams from Ballinamere and Brosna Gaels and came away with two wins and a draw. This group have trained and performed very well all year. Huge thank you to their dedicated and committed mentors and parents for their support throughout the year. Well done to all.

Under 12 Hurling
Our U12 Hurlers returned to winning ways on Saturday September 13th with a comfortable 10-7 to 4-4 win over Belmont in a Go Games fixture that had previously been cancelled over the Summer months. During the month of August the boys in blue had lost three challenges to Laois heavyweights Castletown, Abbeyleix and Borris/Kilcotton. On the home front narrow defeats followed in games against Coolderry and Birr. For a team that had become so accustomed to winning, the August experiences caused a lot of sleepless nights for the management and coaching team. However, in glorious sunshine on Saturday last, the boys in blue came up trumps with their reputations on the line. Star of the show this evening was Corey "The Chalk Man" White. Time and again he plucked long deliveries from the heavens and rifled the ball to the back of the visitors net. His scoring feats were matched with some beautiful ball play by the terrible twins, Michael and Daniel Fox. Eoin Sheahan played his part too with a tally of 1-1 from play. With Oran Martin, Aaron Rooney and John "Yes he is that Good" Furlong keeping things tight at the back, the supply lines were kept well and truly open with super ball being delivered inside by Jay Sheeran, Luke "Henry's Lookalike" Egan, Cormac "The Pocket Rocket" Egan and Ciaran O'Sullivan who scored a cracking goal from an acute angle early in the first half. Younger team members like Diarmuid Egan, Sean Monaghan,Culainn Boland, Adam "Mini" Moore and Cillian Martin played very well indeed and showed great potential for next year. All in all a good day's work. The club have high hopes for this group of players and we are all very proud of the compliments they always receive from opposing coaches at the end of every game. On this occasion Jimmy Cahill of Belmont was gushing with praise for the skill levels displayed by the blues brothers. Management intend staying out on the grass for another month or so before we close the season off. Next up is a challenge against Clonkill of Westmeath this week. PS - Thanks Fergal and the club for all your co-operation and encouragement.

Under 14 Hurling
Our Under 14 hurlers travelled to Shinrone on Monday 8th last for their 5th round championship fixture.  Shinrone started in determined mood and took the game to Tullamore from the start and raced into a lead of 1-05 to 0-01. Tullamores score coming from a Padraic Martin point for Tullamore after 12 minutes.  Tullamore looked nervous and seemed to stand off the Shinrone players, however they then upped their game and began to get back into the game with points from Kevin Kelleher, P Martin(2) and Diarmuid Egan  before K Kelleher cut in from the right to drive a low shot which resulted in a goal sending us in just one point behind at the break. Tullamore started the second half like tigers and had the sliotar in the net from Cormac Kelly but was harshly ruled out by the ref. Tullamore continued to press with Sean Robilliard doing great work in the half forward line leading to points from P Martin(3) and D Egan before the home side struck back with 1-01 to regain the upper hand  on the scoreboard. This Tullamore team then showed their true character to come from behind again and their never say die attitude to drive forward and secure victory with goals from D Egan and Jamie O'Reilly before the final whistle to finish with 3-10 to Shinrone's 2-09. Excellent performances from A Bracken and Kalvin Fenlon in defence, midfielders C Izuchukwu and D Egan with Sean Robilliard, P Martin and Michael Feeney moving well in attack. The Man of the Match went to Darragh Connolly for his brilliant defensive display in keeping the Shinrone attack at bay especially after the periods when Shinrone twice took the lead. Well done to all involved in what was a very exiting game of hurling. Tullamore: C Egan, D Connolly, J Mitchell, J Dwyer, K Fenlon, A Bracken, K Mann, D Egan(1:03), C Izuchukwu,  K Kelleher(1:00), S Robilliard, P Martin(0:06), M Keegan, J O'Reilly(1:00), C Kelly, M Feeney, S Courtney, C Farrell, C Digan, C Lambe, D Carroll, C Martin, A Guilfoyle, B Leavy, D Molloy, E O'Connor, D Flynn. Thanks to all parents and supporters for your continuing support as it is greatly appreciated by all involved.

U-14 Football Championship
Tullamore 5-8 Ferbane 1-7
Tullamore will play Gracefield in the quarter-final of the Under 14 Football Championship after defeating a very strong Ferbane-Belmont
side in their final group game last Friday evening. In what was probably their best performance of the championship so far, the Tullamore boys proved too powerful for a Ferbane side which had got the better of the blues earlier this year in the league. The sides were well matched at the outset and after trading early wides, two Joe Dwyer points put Tullamore ahead before Ferbane hit back with three successive scores. Goals from Myles Maloney and Ciaran Egan, plus another point from Joe Dwyer swung the game in Tullamore's favour but Ferbane scored a goal from a penalty just before the break and the half-time score was 2-3 to 1-4. Super saves by Padraic Martin had denied Ferbane goals during the first half so the match was finely balanced as the second half began. Ferbane cut the Tullamore lead to a single point four minutes after the restart but by the 40th minute the home team had got to grips with their opponents all over the pitch and they surged ahead by scoring 3-3 without reply in a six-minute spell. Tullamore deserve huge credit for maintaining a strong workrate and keeping their discipline during a game where referee Noel Cooney black-carded two of their players and sent off one Ferbane forward. Tullamore: Padraic Martin; Matthew Keegan, Diarmuid Egan, Cian Martin; James Dwyer, Kalvin Fenlon, Kevin Kelleher; Cormac Izuchukwu, Jamie O'Reilly (1-0); Oisin Keenan Martin, Joe Dwyer (0-7), Ben Connolly; Ciaran Egan (2-0), Myles Maloney (2-0), James Mullen (0-1). Subs: Alex Guilfoyle, Cormac Kelly, Conor Lambe, Dean Molloy, Jack Mitchell, Michael Feeney, Adam Kearney, Ciaran Digan, Eoin O'Connor.
