Under 14 Hurling
Our Under 14 hurlers suffered a narrow defeat in the championship last Friday evening in O'Brien Park when they took on Ferbane/Belmont in their Round 4 fixture. This game started in a frantic fashion with no-one yielding as the game ebbed and flowed all through. After Fer/Bel registered the first point, Tullamore settled into the battle and hit back with two points from a Padraic Martin free and Jamie O'Reilly.  Tullamore pointed again after a superb pass from Diarmuid Egan, when he cut the ball back to the 21m line, for J O'Reilly to control and slot over the bar. Fer/Bel levelled again with two more points before P Martin pointed a free and D Egan scored a brilliant goal when he broke through the middle, breaking two tackles and racing clear to shoot to the net from 25m. Fer/Bel again came back and put over three points without reply until J O'Reilly closed out the half with two points. Tullamore looked like they might have an edge over the opposition at the start of the second half when they attacked stretched their lead to four points with a free from P Martin but that was soon put to bed as Fer/Bel played some superb hurling and seemed to score at will as they ripped through the, usually tight, home side's defence and notched up 3-02 during which Tullamore's only reply was a wide from a 21m free. But to their credit and showing great fighting character Tullamore stopped the Fer/Bel flow and hit them with two goals from Cormac Kelly and D Egan. As Tullamore went in search of an equalising score in the final minutes Fer/Bel won a free and pointed just before the final whistle sounded to leave Tullamore two points short on a score line of Tullamore 3-07  Ferbane/Belmont 3-09. Great performances again from Darragh Connolly, Aidan Bracken and J O'Reilly with our Man of the Match going to Diarmuid Egan. Tullamore: C Egan, D Connolly, J Mitchell, J Dwyer, K Fenlon, A Bracken, K Mann, D Egan(2:00), C Izuchukwu,  K Kelleher, S Robilliard, M Keegan, P Martin(0:03), J O'Reilly(0:04), C Kelly(1:00), M Feeney, S Courtney, C Farrell, C Digan, C Lambe, D Carroll, C Martin, C Waters, A Berry, A Guilfoyle, B Leavy, D Molloy, E O'Connor. Thanks to all for the great support as it is greatly appreciated by players, coaches and the club.

U-16 Football Championship
The under 16 footballers played Clara in the quarter final of the championship on Monday evening last. Tullamore put in a huge effort in particular in the second half with the backs defending brilliantly. Clara however took control scoring a penalty and a number of points in the last quarter. The score does not reflect this tough contest. Tullamore 1-5 Clara 2-11

Football Championship
Hard luck to our senior footballers who exited  the championship at the quarter final stage on Saturday evening last with a five point defeat to Clara. (See separate report) It was a tough game with the lads showing great character however unfortunately it was Clara who got the crucial scores in the latter stages of the game. Thank you to the lads, their backroom and management team who put in a huge effort this year. The Intermediate footballers played Erin Rovers in the Round 1 Relegation Play Off on Sunday evening and lost on a score line of 2-8 to 1-15.
