Champions and Coolderry set early pace in SHC

Kilcormac/Killoughey and Coolderry are the only teams to boast a 100 per cent record after the first two rounds of the Offaly SHC.

The holders recorded a comfortable 4-21 to 0-13 victory over Drumcullen in Group 2 last Saturday night, while Coolderry were equally emphatic winners (2-21 to 2-7) over Brosna Gaels. Belmont also remain unbeaten in the same group after their thrilling 2-20 to 4-14 draw with Seir Kieran.

In Group 1, the meeting of St. Rynagh's and Shinrone also ended end all-square, 3-14 apiece. Birr, who lost to Rynagh's in the first round, chalked up their first win at the expense of Ballinamere (1-21 to 0-12), while Kinnitty came from behind to edge out Tullamore on a 1-13 to 1-11 scoreline.

The next round of games will take place over the August Bank Holiday weekend.
