Daingean's second team welcomed Raheen to Daingean on Saturday evening last for a challenge game that provided good preparation for the upcoming Junior C final. In what was a closely contested game throughout, it was the visitors who ran out winners in the end thanks to a couple of timely second half goals.

Congratulations to local resident Jack Kenna, who was inducted into the Leinster GAA Hall of Fame at the weekend. Known on the field as the Silver Bullet, Jack represented Laois between 1950 & 1962 while playing with the O'Dempseys club. Jack also frequently represented Leinster at interprovincial level and helped his province to 3 Railway Cup titles during this time. Highly regarded in football circles far and wide, Jack is a worthy inductee into the Hall of Fame. Tweet
