Seamus Darby has jokingly said he isn't to blame for the five Garth Brooks concerts not going ahead at Croke Park.

The Rhode man famously stopped Kerry's bid for an unprecedented five-in-a-row of All-Ireland football titles with his late winning goal for Offaly in the 1982 All-Ireland final, but he has laughed off suggestions that his goal put a hex on the five concerts taking place later this month.

"I don't think it would have had any bearing on Garth Brooks not getting his five. But it seems five-in-a-row at Croker is pretty hard to get," joked Darby, who confirmed that he bought tickets to see one of the cancelled shows.
