There were wins for Kildare, Meath, Wexford and Offaly in today's other Leinster MFC games.

Kildare got the better of hosts Westmeath on a scoreline of 1-12 to 1-8 having led by 1-6 to 0-4 at the break.

Meath, meanwhile, encountered little difficulty in disposing of Wicklow's challenge - 3-18 to 1-6 - in Pairc Tailteann.

The game was effectively over as a contest at the halfway stage with the Royals holding a commanding 1-10 to 0-2 lead.

Elsewhere, Wexford came away from Drogheda with the spoils on a surprisingly convincing scoreline of 3-15 to 2-5.

The Model County restricted their hosts to a solitary point in the opening 30 minutes while amassing 1-11 at the other end.

As expected, Offaly scored a facile 7-30 to 0-2 victory over Kilkenny in Urlingford while Laois will entertain Carlow in the last of the first round ties in Portlaoise this evening (7pm).
