Killeigh GAA Notes

April 14, 2014
Football League.
Killeigh 0-10 Durrow 1-10
The footballers put in their poorest performance of the season so far when going down to Durrow in the league last Saturday in Killeigh. Coming into the game on the back of a couple of good performances and with home advantage hopes were high of another positive result. With Durrow having the advantage of a strong wind in the first half Killeigh would have been happy enough going in at the break level at 5 points apiece. On the resumption Killeigh played their best football of the game and opened up a three point lead; however a goal from the visitors put them right back into the game and Killeigh struggled to have any impact for the remainder of the game, with the work rate and intensity of the past few weeks absent, and Durrow deservedly claimed the points on the day. With a league game against Ballinagar next weekend and the opening round of the championship the following weekend against Tubber hopefully this was a one off poor performance and things can be righted quickly.
