The people of Trinyland were saddened by the sudden death of Mr Ambrose Hayden at his home in Ballinacarrig on Sunday, December 17, 2006. Ambrose, who was aged 82 years, certainly belied his age and was a familiar face in the community and took an active interest in the local GAA, having been a keen footballer in his younger days. He was a member of the Leighlinbridge team which wont he Carlow Football Title in 1957. Ambrose was often seen in Dr Cullen Park following local and county teams both in football and hurling.

Two year later she returned to work as a nurse and midwife in the District Hospital, Carlow where she later served as Assistant Matron.
