FIXTURES.

While championship action dominates the fixtures programme this coming weekend there are also a number of important league games down for decision while in the early days of next week there are finals and semifinals in the various minor competitions.

CHAMPIONSHIPS:

This weekend is another action packed programme of championship matches with 7 games in all down for decision, 3 in the Greenfield Foods senior football championship and 2 games in each of the McElvaney's Waste and Recycling intermediate football championship and the Universal Graphics Junior football championship. The programme of matches is being played as 2 double headers in the intermediate and Junior Championships on Saturday, 2 games, Corduff v Toome and Blackhill v Doohamlet in the McElvaney's Waste and Recycling intermediate football championship in Inniskeen on Saturday evening at the same time as the Junior championship double bill, Drumhowan V Eire Og and Clones V Currin is being staged in Scotstown. Sunday is exclusively for the Greenfield Foods senior football championship with one game in Aughnamullen on Sunday afternoon at 1:15 PM when Castleblayney take on Killanny and then a double bill in Castleblayney on Sunday evening, Magheracloone taking on Truagh at 5:30 PM with Donaghmoyne and Clontibret fighting for survival at 7:15 PM.

LEAGUES.

There is one game in the senior football league on Saturday evening at 7 PM when Monaghan Harps are at home against Ballybay. There are 5 games in the senior football league next Wednesday evening August 23rd; Magheracloone at home against Killanny, Latton away at Donaghmoyne, Ballybay and Castleblayney having a rerun of their championship encounter in Ballybay, Monaghan Harps away at Scotstown and Clontibret at home against Truagh, all those games timed to start at 7 PM.

IFL.

In the intermediate football league on Sunday there are 2 games down for decision, both at 12:30 PM; Tyholland at home against Emyvale and Carrickmacross away at Cremartin while in the Junior football league on Sunday Aghabog entertain Sean McDermotts and Scotstown travel to Oram, both those games also at 12:30 PM. Meanwhile on Wednesday next in the junior football league Rockcorry are at home against Currin and Clones are away against Drumhowan, both at 7 PM.

MFL.

At minor level it is coming to the final stages in the league competitions starting on Monday next with the division 3 cup final between St Mary's na Mullai and Cremartin, that game in Gavin Duffy Park at 6:15 PM. On Tuesday next August 22nd Inniskeen take on Aughnamullen in Carrickmacross in the division 1 cup final at 6:45 PM, while in the Division I shield final, Scotstown and Donaghmoyne go head to head in Cremartin also at 6:45 PM. The division 2 final sees the meeting of Monaghan Harps and Castleblayney in Drumhowan and the division 3 shield final sees Doohamlet and Clan na Gael meeting in Blackhill, both those games also at 6:45 PM.

HURLING.

The semi finals in the Silver Hill Farm senior hurling league take place this evening with Carrickmacross HC having home advantage over Inniskeen and Craobh Ruadh, Camlough, County Armagh away at Castleblayney HC. The final of the senior hurling league has been pencilled in for next Thursday, August 24th at a venue to be confirmed. Meanwhile at underage level, Monday next sees games in the under 12 hurling league and the semi finals in the under 16 hurling championship. In the under 12 hurling league Castleblayney HC are at home against Cootehill Celtic at 6:45 PM and Monaghan Harps HC are away at Keady Lamh Dearg, that one at 7 PM. The semi finals of the under 16 hurling championship see Monaghan Harps HC at home against Carrickmacross and Truagh away at Castleblayney HC, both games timed for 7:30 PM.
